Leather Care
Leather goods will last a very long time when properly cared for.
Please have a read below on how to care for your bespoke Anneliese Atelier Leather creation:
Regularly:
- Clean leather with a soft, natural bristle brush or slightly damp cloth. Keep leather protected on a shelf or hanger, off the floor.
- After use, remove your belt from items of clothing and alternate sides to minimise warping and stretching.
- To keep leather supple, every 3-6 months, use a specialised leather conditioner such as Duzz-all Beeswax, Dubbin Polish (Clear/Natural) or Oakwood Leather Conditioner. Follow the individual directions for use. Please test conditioner in a small hidden spot beforehand.
- Leather will absorb water when wet. Blot away any visible water or moisture and dry leather naturally, away from artificial heat and direct sunlight.
- Spots and/or stains can be gently cleaned from leather using a soft cloth dampened with lukewarm water. Saddle soap or a very mild soap can be mixed with water should the stain prove stubborn. It is advised not to use hot water, bleach or any strong detergents when cleaning leather as likely will damage the leather permanently.
Avoid:
- Leather cannot be machine washed, submersion in water is not recommended and will damage the appearance of the leather. Where possible, protect your leather from water or moisture.
- Any form of artificial heat, for example, clothes dryer, hair dryer, heater, oven or fireplace
- Where possible avoid wearing sharp embellishments on clothing to minimize the risk of damaging/scratching the leather
- Do not use bleach, hot water or strong detergents.
